“Dr. Phil” has posted a great blogger post that has it’s roots in his growing up around Moultrie:

Keep in mind I grew up in Georgia. When I mention Georgia, most people who have never been there think of Atlanta, a great southern metropolitan city.

Most have not heard of Moultrie, a small farming town in the southwestern region of Georgia. I grew up on a 75-acre farm that was then, and still is, a half mile off the main dirt road.

Here is a great post from Cat O’ Nine Tales.  I don’t know who she is either, but evidently she grew up around Moultrie:

This was the 1930’s.  South Georgia.  Small town.  If Moultrie wasn’t the buckle on the Bible Belt, it was at the very least the hole in which the buckle fastened.  Like almost everyone else, Mama Lucy’s family were strict Southern Baptists–no drinking, no card playing, and most certainly no tobacco!
